Here is the scoring from Photo 3--the bad kid drawing one.  I honestly think this one will be my favorite.  It was such an ugly drawing that the captions were hilarious.  And then, the comments during voting were equally priceless. Here's an excel chart that I just cut and pasted into this blog….It's not perfect, but you get the idea.  I tried a bunch of stuff--that tablelizer and some other suggestion methods, but this is all I've got.  Deal with it.  I'm never going to get any smarter with this, but I did check the point totals from the beginning, and here's where we sit…Can you even believe it??? Joann snuck out in front by having TWO captions in the TOP TEN, and you have to admit, they were both REALLY good.  Judy and John are TIED, which is crazy because I couldn't have made that happen if I tried, and in my munificence, I awarded 100 VERY big extra credit points, to make up for me bitching this blog up all week. Let's hope I do better tomorrow when I post picture number 5 and the scores from photo 4.

Here's how the always random Extra Credit went down:

  • 30 for Linda for being such a great sport and setting a very nice example with voting
  • 30 for Rob for the Craterface comment.  Honestly, every time I see Craterface get in that incredibly tiny car, I love it.  Glad Rob mentioned it, because I thought it was only me.
  • 20 for Stacy, because I never have to count her caption entries--THANKS!
  • 20 each for Sue Roop and Brian Kiernan, because they need the points, as they will be too busy this weekend to enter any captions…..if things work out, somebody owes me something…
  • 20 for Tricia, because she makes me laugh.  (and she somehow figured out that Pete McKeon is headlining Grease--we are trying to  keep it on the down low---the boy can't dance)
As you can see, it's still anyone's ball game.  And Rob, Jessica, Linda, Nate, Jamarcus--put in a few more captions and capture the full 20 quality points. Not everyone is Stacy, so with a bit  more effort, you can really up your point totals.  Also, the voting for 3rd place and those 5 important votes (that Joann always seems to pick up) is always pretty close.  A good dozen votes could put you in the top three…think about it.  This is a marathon, not a sprint. You all know how Lentertainment works by now, so let's see some strategic gamesmanship, please.

Because this is a full service blog, and because there may be a follower or two who are not all that interested in Lentertainment (though I cannot imagine who wouldn't be, given how tight the competition is proving to be…), I am including a TOP TEN that is not related to the contest.  I know, it just keeps getting better….and better. Oh, and as a side note, for those of you who DO NOT get Chicago magazine, I just want to let you know that Stan's Donuts and Coffee, mentioned in the TOP TEN of this always cutting edge blog, almost two weeks ago now, is in this month's issue of Chicago. Yeah, you heard it here first…you're welcome.

1. March Madness--It's the best time of the year.  I'm picking Harvard to upset Cincinnati.  I still remember vividly the Princeton-Georgetown Match up in 1989 (Sports Illustrated wrote about it this week, yet again, another periodical lifting my ideas….) I was crying.  Literally.

2. Billy Donovan--coach of Florida-the team I am picking to go all the way.  I love Billy Donovan and still remember when he played at Providence for Rick Pitino and took them to the Final Four in 1987.  He's one of only four coaches to both play in the Final Four and win a NCAA title as a coach.

3. Johnston Murphy low boots at Bloomingdales--these are perfect, and of course, are now on sale for much less than I paid for them…Still a great little boot.

4. Kettle Brand Krinkle Cut salt and fresh ground pepper potato chips--I gave up sweets for Lent, but not these little morsels of delicious.  According to my sources, they are great in pancakes, as well!?

5. The Slim Fit Sienna Boyfriend jeans from Lucky--they fit great (even after eating the salt and pepper chips) and look very nice with the boots shown above.

6.  Ho Hey, the song those two sisters sang on Nashville--Annie put it on a CD for me a few months ago and I just keep playing it…I think these girls are real live sisters..and sorry that this girl's head is so big…

7. This article in the Huffington post--it's really good and I hope parents realize what a disservice they are doing to their kids when they constantly shield them from adversity.  Again, I believe I wrote about this topic a few years back (In Defense of Tiger Mom) but it bears repeating:

8. Grease is the word. Last chance to see this fun show at St. Joes this weekend--

9. Pete McKeon--having a blast in said Grease.

10. Jack Burke--stealing the show in said Grease.  And Jack Burke is basically the son I  never had.  Honestly, seeing these two boys together in this show has brought us a million hours of laughs.  What a very fun way to high light their 10 year friendship.

How cute are these two??

Enjoy this post, keep pushing the vote, and look for Photo Five later today.

  2. Great prediction on Harvard today! Nice Top 10. Love the article - motto in our home - "Life's not fair, get used to it." Kids need to be prepared for the real world.
Thanks for the extra credit - it's keeping me afloat.
