30 Hours and Counting...

Holy Mother of God, (and I mean this in the most seasonal way) this blog is going crazy!! Well over 10,000 hits and many more coming. My life has gotten absolutely out of control, I am heading to another meeting (who holds budget meetings the week before Christmas??) and I have exactly 10 minutes to write this next post...Here goes:
  • Angela and Judy and racking up the votes
  • Louis is backing Maggie Nickels ?!--and has lost a ton of weight
  • Tina Lampe is the peacemaker voting for everyone--excellent strategy and VERY Christmassy of her
  • Sue Chiappetta is making up words (why?) and voting for her girls
  • Meg is making me a purse...YEAH!! and is a terrific voter
  • Emily has finished her finals and is officially a second semester senior
  • Annie is making paper dolls and her dad couldn't be more excited to be paying a ton of college tuition for that educational project
  • Maggie is non communicado somewhere on a beach in Mexico, but Louis has her back
  • Larry Sanchez is a fake
  • FF Pond has gone underground
  • Casey has jumped back in
  • Katey Caspar is feeling some heavy duty Angela guilt
  • Judy Pulera's got a serious fan club and her husband, neighbors, sons and almost relatives are VERY techno savvy
  • I've got 10,300 hits, but in reality have still only lost 3 pounds--could be because I ATE A BLOCK OF FUDGE FOR LUNCH THAT WAS THE SIZE OF A BRICK...
  • Kerry Gapinski still makes me laugh
  • Jamarcus McKeon better get straight As
  • Pete McKeon has gained 10 pounds since this competition started....the apple doesn't fall far from the tree and all that...
  • Jake and Henry have snotty noses, but are still able to pull the voting lever for their mom
  • The Burberry scarf is SUPER soft and sitting in my closet, waiting to be shipped to the winner
GOOOD  LUUUUCCCKKK TO ALLLL OF YOU---TOMORROW IS THE BIG AND LAST DAY!! MAKE IT COUNT!!!

Ten minutes and done: Super Special Top Ten List Tomorrow

  1. First comment on the new post! Woo-hoo! Just in case no one makes it through 550 comments to my last one there are unofficially only 3 weeks left until my husband gets home -- now there's some motivation!

Henry's asleep already, but Jake votes for me again.

  3. Just to clarify, does the race end at midnight eastern or central time?

ND kids, be sure to stop at the grotto on your way home after finals. It's the best place ever. You will miss it when you're gone.

  4. Laurie... it's the Libra in me.. got to have balance in my life.

Diet Tip: Take the 2 weeks off prior to the holidays and you will avoid all of the holiday treats delivered to the office. Stay away from the office kitchen as well. I have decided to move the coffee pot into my office so I can't be tempted by all the treats.

I will send a vote to Angela who at 3 weeks from seeing her husband will be a knock-out greeting him.

  7. For any of you girls are looking for a great book to read for fitness, I recommend, "The Female Body Breakthrough" by Rachel Cosgrove. It's a revolutionary strength-training plan for losing fat and getting the body you want. It's well worth the read!

  11. We are now down to the final 24 hours of the Burberry Fit Club Challenge. I am so excited I can't even sleep. It's a sprint to the finish. I'm sure it will be a race to the wire. May the best man/woman win.

  12. Good Morning Fit Club! I'm heading to my first Christmas program this morning (for Jake's 2 yr old preschool class). Everytime I ask what he's going to sing, he says, "Jingle Bells?" Like he's not quite sure.

Jake and Henry both give a vote to Mommy.

  15. I'd just like to clarify a few things;

    1) I have lost a decent amount of weight and feel way more fit than I did a couple of weeks ago, so I'm happy. Also training for the Holy Half thing at ND in the Spring, so that's a ton of motivation.

    2) I am backing up Maggie, when it comes to votes. I'd obviously rather win myself, but if I can help someone else at least in the voting process, I'm not gonna not put my votes to good use.

    3) In respect to #2, It's more about giving people who are relying too heavily on the votes and not getting their ass in the gym some competition. I feel as if some of us don't realize that the voting is merely a part of picking the winner, not the sole basis. So maybe said people would benefit from 1) losing weight, and 2) giving insightful tips.

    4) Tip #45: Liquids are key. They really do help flush out your system and water (especially and obviously) proves beneficial to losing last minute weight before, let's say, the end of a competition?

    5) Whoever mentioned the Grotto; huge points.. it's so peaceful.

    6) One more final to go and still going strong on the running; more huge.

    7) Good Luck, you're all going to need it.

  16. Oh, and just a by the way: I've been positively encouraging a said Jamarcus McKeon to make good decisions and keep his nose basically glued to his books (which he has, in fact been doing)... sooo much responsibility.

Please let that information influence the decision of who should win that scarf as it may...

  17. Louis, that was my comment about the grotto. Light a candle for my husband's homecoming journey, if you would be so kind.

Jake's show was seriously adorable. And, at 8 minutes long, the perfect length.

Jake and Henry wanted to vote one more time for Mommy before naptime!

  18. Angela, definitely. I love going down there after finals, it's just so peaceful.

And I'll give one vote you Angela for the reminder.

  21. Oh my gosh, I'm so nervous!

Today, I went to the airport to pick up my mother-in-law. The next time I go to the airport will be for Brendan's arrival!!! I hired a professional photographer to capture the moment and I hope that moment involves a new Burberry scarf!

  22. alright... I've accepted that my chances winning are slim...how can I compete with Angelas "husband in Afghanistan " bit....

    soooo vote for Angela

  23. We are down to the wire and all a bit wiser with all the workout and diet/fitness tips that we can carry into the new year. Diet Tip: Plan ahead and keep plenty of fresh vegetables cut up in your refrigerator for snacking... you are less likely to grab something unhealthy if those are available.

Thanks Judy for the tip about the book... will be sure to check it out. Can always learn something new. A vote for Judy Pulera on her way to the finish line!

  24. A vote for Angela as well as she counts down to her Holiday homecoming with Brendan. Good Luck to you and I am sure the Burberry scarf will compliment any outfit you choose.

  28. Diet/overall body fitness tip - Don't drink too much caffeine... it messes with your metabolism. Not easy to say in these hectic lives of ours and especially when we find ourselves shopping and wrapping and writing out Christmas cards into the wee hours of the morning, but it does help to limit it if possible. Also, avoid letting winter sway you into wearing loose fitting clothes that can hide those extra pounds - sweatpants, loose sweatshirts, roomy sweaters, etc. Don't wear clothes that are too tight, but wear ones that will remind you that you may have put on a few pounds so you work hard to keep off what you have lost.

    A vote for Judy Pulera!

  29. A vote for Angela, Brendan will be here before you know it.

  30. Angela...I wish you and your children a beautiful homecoming with your husband. It will be a kodak moment! On behalf of my family, I would like to extend our thankfulness to your husband for his service.

This BFC Challenge really has been a blast. I think we all had fun. Laurie is quite the woman!!

Merry Christmas to all the BFC challengers!!

  31. Thank you all so much for your fun comments and support. This has been a blast (the BFC Challenge, not the deployment) and has made the last month go by much more quickly.

Merry Christmas to all and to all a goodnight!

  32. T'was the night before Christmas when all through the house, not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse. The stockings were hung by the chimney with care, in hopes that a Burberry scarf soon would be there...

    Another xmas vote for Angela!

  33. All time favorite Christmas Hymn. Well, with a few minor adjustments...

Holy holy holy, scarf from Burberry, early in the morning our song shall rise to thee. There is a sign at the sight of thee there is non beside thee, scarf from Burberry, blessed Burberry!

    Another vote for Angela!
